45th Military Ball
The 45rd JROTC Military Ball will be held at Randolph Air Force Base, Officers Club
on 6 February 2016. The Corps of Cadets and parents are welcome to attand (ticket cost:
$ 30) and enjoy the evening.
Veteran's Day Ceremony 11 NOV 2015
The JROTC Corps of Cadets at East Central High School will honor all veterans at the East Central High School. All veterans within the district and community are welcome to the ceremony.
Leadership & Academics Team
The JROTC Academic and Leadership Team at
East Central HS is preparing to compete against
1,491 teams again for the 2015-16 Army JROTC
Academic and Leadership Bowls. It will be a tough
challenge as they are busy preparing themselves
studying the leadership of Thurgood Marshall to
advance to the next round of competition Level II
which will be held February 1-15, 2016 which will
determine the final 24 teams that will participate in
the Nationals in June at Washington DC. GO Cadets

The Hornet Battalion Corps of Cadets photo are
will take place in November 2015. Proofs will be
returned within 2 weeks and Cadets will receive
them. The envelopes will need to be return with
the money order, check, or cash (sealed) to the
Army Instructors to submit the order. .
DRILL MEETS !!!
The JROTC Hornet Battalion Teams will be competing in
the drill meets for School Year 2015-2016 Parent volunteers
are always needed to help the Cadets during the Drill Meets.
As the Drill Meets are received, the dates and times will be posted.

Make A Wish
The JROTC Hornet Battalion is always busy raising money
for the Make-A-Wish Foundation for school year 2015-2016.
This year the JROTC Hornet Battalion's goal is $ 6,200
for the Make A Wish Foundation. The JROTC Hornet
Battalion has raised the following money for the
Make-A-Wish Foundation for the last 5 years:
$4,100 for SY 2010-2011
$4,500 for SY 2011-2012
$5,100 for SY 2012-2013
$6,000 for SY 2013-2014.
$6, 125 for SY 2014-2015
As of 2015, the JRTOC Corps of Cadets have raised over $ 50,000
since it started raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Hornet Battalion - JROTC Teams
The Hornet Battalion is a fast paced active JROTC Battalion comprised of highly competitive teams. Individual Teams practice after school from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Times are subject to change depending on School or Battalion needs. Teams practice to represent the Hornet Battalion at Drill Meet, Parades, district functions and community events. All cadets are strongly encouraged to participate on at least one of the teams as this builds Battalion Spirit, develops great understanding and fulfills a sense of great personal accomplishment. Additionally, being one of the team members enhances a cadet's opportunity for promotion and selection for positions of greater responsibility within the Cadet Chain of Command. Cadets are encouraged and welcomed to participate on more than one Battalion Team. All cadets are required to maintain good academic standings while participating on one of the battalion's teams.The following is a list of all teams available to the cadets of the Hornet Battalion:
The JROTC has the following dates on schedule for the Adopt A Highway
The new Army Service Uniform will be issued to the Seniors
and Juniorsper guidance from US Army Cadet Command.
The Green Class A/B Uniform will be the required uniform
for the LET II and LET I.
All Cadets are required to purchased the NEW “Corps Polo Shirt with
the Embroidered Logo for $12 that will be worn on Tuesdays when directed.
The Army Instructors are the ONLY ones who can grant an exception and
excuse a cadet. Cadets are required to comply. Cadets will receive a grade
on Tuesday when they are wearing their uniform or corps Polo shirts.
ALL Male and female cadets are required to maintain the proper
groomings IAW the program requirements. Cadets will be informed
when they need to comply with the JROTC requirements.
JROTC School Board Presentation
The JROTC Corps of Cadets will be honored by Mrs Sara Conners, Director of National Initiatives for the Make-A-Wish Foundation on 15 Oct 2015 at the School Board Presentation. JROTC has been donating money to the Make-A-Wish since 1999 and to date have raised over $ 50,000. She also has honored the JROTC Corps of Cadets Hornet Battalion for being the largest donor of all the JROTCs in 40 counties from within Central and south Texas. GO CORPS OF CADETS!!!!
